Siemens Gigaset repeater problem

Re: Siemens Gigaset repeater problem

Exactly. It's not end-user testable, as far as I can see. At the moment I still don't have a unit to test with, as my repeater has been with Siemens for *seven* weeks. They're "waiting for a part".

Not sure how to test the power supply theory as the connection is quite specific.
Am sending mine back again today with a sreen shot of the handset when it is playing up.

Mine is still lost in Siemensland but in the meantime somebody knowledgeable has suggested that the power supply might be the cause. Any thoughts, anyone?

Mine has gone back, but after three weeks they have no idea when it will be fixed. Amateur night.

It seemed to work OK for a few weeks but is playing up again. I suppose I will have to send it back again..

Re: Siemens Gigaset repeater problem

I have now managed to re-register the repeater to the base station (needed to re-set the repeater). It has now been working OK for 6 days so I am hoping that there problem was with the repeater and that they have fixed it. Not sure what they did as the piece of paper that they sent back gave no clues.
Anyway, fingers crossed that it continues working.
Good luck sorting yours.

Re: Siemens Gigaset repeater problem

I still haven't sent mine back. I thought I had cracked it with the Panasonic repeater, but eventually I had exactly the same problem as when using the Siemens repeater. In other words, it's not the repeater which is the cause. Even powering down a handset in the repeater area and repowering it seems to resolve the issue - until the next time.
I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and replace Siemens with Snom, unless anyone comes along shortly to tell me Snom's just as bad...
