  • Locking Polycom SoundPoint Phones
by cortezone Wed 26 of May, 2010
We've purchased over 500 Polycom SoundPoint IP30x phones for use with Digium Switchvox PBXs. It's a policy in my organization to allow International and local calls to staff and so it is imperative to be able to lock the phones to avoid unauthorized use. We moved from a Siemens system and people are used to locking their phones with a PIN code. This feature is absent on the Polycom phones and I'm looking for a way to implement the functionality. I've seen something somewhere about using call queues where the user has to log into the queue before making an international call. To have individual PIN for 500 users means 500 queues, am I right? This I don't see to be scalable. Has anyone implemented something like this? Can this experience be shared?
    Thanks.
